Home water filtration system for everyday use

Platinum Wasser ULTRA6 was designed as a home drinking water treatment system installed in the kitchen. Multi-stage purification makes the water suitable for everyday drinking, preparing tea, coffee, meals, and other beverages.

It is a solution for people who expect a combination of effective purification, stable operation, and ease of use. The reverse osmosis filter works in multiple stages: first, it reduces mechanical impurities and selected chemical compounds, then the RO membrane is responsible for thorough purification, and the final cartridges improve the water’s qualities and supplement it with minerals.

How the 6-stage filtration in Platinum Wasser ULTRA6 works

The ULTRA6 system features a complete 6-stage filtration process. Each stage is responsible for a different range of purification, making the entire unit an effective and coherent water filtration system.

Stage I – 20-micron foam cartridge

The first filtration stage captures all kinds of mechanical impurities such as sand, rust, and other sediments. This is an important element in protecting the subsequent filtration stages from larger particles present in the water.

Stage II – carbon cartridge

The second stage is intended for filtering chlorine, chlorine derivatives, lead, toxic heavy metals, as well as removing organic compounds and mechanical impurities up to 20 microns. This stage also supports improvement of the water’s usable quality.

Stage III – 5-micron foam cartridge

The third stage captures all kinds of mechanical impurities such as sand, rust, and other sediments. More precise mechanical filtration prepares the water to pass through the RO membrane.

Stage IV – RO membrane

The fourth stage is the key element of the system, namely the RO membrane. It consists of many layers wound onto a perforated core placed inside. The membrane retains 96–99% of dissolved organic and inorganic contaminants in the water, heavy metals, and some bacteria and viruses not smaller than 0.001 microns.

These contaminants are separated and discharged into the sewage system, while ideally purified water passes through openings into the central core and, under pressure, flows out of the membrane. The set includes a 75 GPD membrane with a capacity of 280 l/24 h.

Stage V – inline carbon cartridge

The fifth stage is an inline carbon cartridge containing high-quality coconut shell carbon media. Its task is to improve the taste and odor of the water after the reverse osmosis process.

Stage VI – inline mineralizing cartridge

The sixth stage is an inline mineralizing cartridge. Since reverse osmosis removes 96–99% of contaminants and minerals, the L-MIN cartridge enriches the water with lost minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium.

Installation and operation

RO6 Platinum Wasser ULTRA6 is intended for installation in the kitchen as a home water filtration system. The operating parameters have been adapted to typical use in water installations, and the presence of the tank enables convenient use of previously prepared clean water.

The solution includes a complete 6-stage reverse osmosis system with three housings, a 75 GPD membrane, an inline carbon cartridge, an inline mineralizing cartridge, 1/4" polyethylene tubing, and a tank with a total capacity of 12 l.
