These devices utilize UV-C radiation with a wavelength of 100-280 nanometers, which is capable of damaging the DNA structure of microorganisms, preventing them from further reproduction.
UV bactericidal lamps are used in various fields such as drinking water treatment, swimming pool water purification, and disinfection of water used in various industrial sectors (e.g., food, pharmaceutical, electronic industries).
Using UV lamps for water disinfection has several advantages. Primarily, this method of treatment does not require the addition of chemicals to the water, which in turn eliminates the generation of chemical waste.
