The analysis shows whether the installation requires only mechanical filtration or also iron and manganese removal, softening, odour treatment or disinfection.

How do you choose a well water filter?
The most important factors are the water parameters, peak flow, number of users and available installation space. Sand requires a different solution than dissolved iron, while microbiological contamination calls for a separate treatment method. One universal filter cannot solve every possible well water problem.
Sand, silt and suspended solids - use screen, disc or cartridge filtration selected for the particle load and required flow.
Iron and manganese - usually require an automatic media filter matched to pH, oxygen level, contaminant concentration and service flow.
Hard water - may require an ion-exchange water softener.
Hydrogen sulphide and unpleasant odours - treatment may include aeration, catalytic media or activated carbon, depending on the cause.
Bacteria - may require removal of the contamination source, disinfection of the well and pipework and the use of a UV steriliser.
Whole-house treatment and drinking water filtration
Equipment installed at the main water inlet treats water for the entire building and protects pipework, taps, heating equipment and household appliances. An under-sink filter or reverse osmosis system treats water only at one point of use. These solutions can complement each other, but they are not interchangeable.
What should be checked before purchase?
a current chemical and microbiological water analysis,
pump capacity and the actual peak household flow,
connection diameter and available water pressure,
space for the treatment unit, drain and electrical supply,
backwash frequency and regeneration water consumption,
availability of service, replacement media and spare parts.
Important: appearance, taste and smell are not sufficient to assess water quality. Test the water before selecting a treatment system, especially when it will be used for drinking and food preparation.
