Description

Water Filter for Home THREAD 1'' Pre-Mechanical Water Treatment Filter is a complete, three-stage water filter for installation on a domestic plumbing system, designed for preliminary treatment of cold and lukewarm utility water. This practical water filtration system combines mechanical and carbon filtration, helping reduce sand, rust, silt, chlorine, unpleasant taste, and odor. The integrated housing with 1" female threaded connections, standard 10" cartridges, and straightforward servicing make it a convenient solution for everyday water treatment and for protecting the installation and fixtures. It can also serve as an effective pre-treatment stage before more advanced solutions such as reverse osmosis.

Three-stage 1" in-line filter for the home

This is an integrated filtration module designed for effective filtration of cold water and lukewarm utility water. Three purification stages work in a single block, and the solid construction, universal connections, and convenient operation make everyday use easier.

The filter helps improve water quality right at the initial stage. It reduces mechanical impurities and supports better utility properties of the water, so it works well both as a standalone system and as a pre-stage for further filtration solutions, for example when a permeate filter or reverse osmosis filter is operating later in the installation.

Set contents

  • Integrated triple 10" housing assembly Fi 1" female thread
  • 9 pcs. 10" filter cartridges:
    • foam (sediment) cartridge 5 µm
    • activated carbon cartridge (granular)
    • carbon block cartridge
  • Housing wrench – makes cartridge removal and replacement easier
  • Mounting plate + 12 pcs. head screws – for stable fastening of the filter

The set is prepared to make installation, later servicing, and regular replacement of filter cartridges easier.

Main advantages

  • Complete, integrated module – you only connect the 1" inlet and outlet threads
  • Three filtration stages in one block – 5 µm foam, granular activated carbon, carbon block
  • Immediate water improvement – removal of sand, rust, chlorine, pesticides, heavy metals, unpleasant tastes, and odors
  • Brass threads + double sealing – high corrosion resistance and reduced risk of micro-leaks
  • Minimal pressure drop – 1" female full-bore threads
  • Fast servicing – cartridge replacement in less than 5 minutes
  • Compact design – easy wall mounting
  • Operating range 1–45 °C – for cold and lukewarm utility water

How the 3 filtration stages work

1. 5 µm foam cartridge (sediment)

  • Action: deep filtration of mechanical impurities – it traps sand, silt, rust deposits, and larger solid particles.
  • Working position: usually installed as the first stage, before the carbon cartridges, to protect the next filtration stages.
  • Replacement: every 3–6 months*

2. Activated carbon cartridge (granular)

  • Action: water clarification – reduction of chlorine, aromas and odors, organic deposits.
  • Working position: second stage – pre-cleans the water, leaving it clean and neutral in taste.
  • Replacement: every 3–6 months*

3. Carbon block cartridge

  • Action: adsorption of chlorine, pesticides and most organic compounds, heavy metals; significant improvement of water taste and odor.
  • Working position: third stage – the block cartridge excellently removes chemical substances before the water moves on through the system.
  • Replacement: every 3–6 months*

* Recommended replacement intervals may be shorter in case of high water contamination, temperature, or pressure.

This arrangement means that the first filter cartridge protects the following stages from mechanical impurities, while the next two are responsible for improving odor and taste and reducing selected chemical compounds typical of utility water.

Operation and everyday use

The filter operates passively, using the pressure present in the water installation, so it does not require electrical power. It is a convenient solution for home use where easy operation, quick access to cartridges, and effective pre-filtration are important.

Thanks to the standard 10" size, the user can also later use other compatible cartridges of this format if the installation configuration requires it.

To maintain high filtration quality, regularly check the condition of the cartridges and replace them according to the recommendations.

  1. Remove each cartridge from the plastic packaging.
  2. Place the cartridges in a clean container with water and soak for 30 min.
  3. After that time, remove carefully and allow excess water to drain off.

Soaking prevents air bubbles and improves filtration efficiency.

2. Selecting and preparing the mounting location for the water filter

  1. Choose the location

Behind the main shut-off valve for the water supply.

In a space with easy access for servicing and cartridge replacement.

  2. Leave at least 10 cm of free space below and above the filter frame.
  3. Shut off the water supply valve and release the pressure by opening the nearest faucet after the filter.

3. Installing the mounting plate and housing frame

  1. Place the mounting plate under the frame of the three heads, leveling it.
  2. Mark the mounting holes corresponding to the holes in the plate.
  3. Drill the holes and insert the wall plugs.
  4. Screw the plate to the wall using the plugs.
  5. Hang the housing frame on the plate by engaging the upper profile of the frame.

4. Installing the water connections

The housing set has 1" female internal threads at the inlet and outlet. External 1" male connectors should be selected.

  1. Select 1" male connectors matching the 1" female threads in the heads.
  2. Wrap the male threads with Teflon tape (several turns).
  3. Screw the male connectors into the female threads of the heads:

Side marked with IN arrow – water supply from the installation.

Side marked OUT – water outlet after filtration.

  4. Tighten the connectors with an adjustable wrench until resistance is felt.
  5. Connect the water installation pipes to the mounted connectors, sealing the joints.

5. Installing the filter cartridges

Reminder: the cartridges should already have been soaked for 30 min.

  1. Unscrew each housing.
  2. Check that the O-ring is in place.
  3. Apply a layer of petroleum jelly to the O-ring.
  4. Insert the cartridges into the housing in the following order:

    Mechanical (foam)

    Granular activated carbon cartridge

    Activated carbon block

  5. Make sure each cartridge is seated vertically.
  6. Tighten the housing by hand or with the wrench until slight resistance is felt.

6. Start-up and leak test

  1. Slowly open the main water supply valve (1/4 turn).
  2. Observe the set for 2–3 minutes. If you notice any leaks, slightly tighten the relevant housing or connection.
  3. Once you have confirmed there are no leaks, open the valve fully.

7. Flushing and putting into use

  1. Open the nearest faucet after the filter and flush the cartridges for 5–10 min.
  2. Check the mounting stability and gaskets.
  3. Write down the installation date on the housing label – this will help with planning cartridge replacement.

FAQ

How often should the filter cartridges be replaced?

The recommended replacement interval is every 3–6 months. The frequency depends on water quality, the level of contamination, temperature, and operating pressure. Under more demanding operating conditions, the cartridges may wear out faster.

Does the filter require electrical power?

No. The system operates passively and uses the pressure present in the water installation, so it does not need electricity.

Can I install the filter myself?

Yes, if you have basic plumbing experience. The set includes a housing wrench, mounting plate, and screws for the heads, and installation is carried out step by step. However, you need to prepare additional 1" male-thread connections and standard installation tools.

Does the filter reduce water pressure?

Yes, but only to a small extent. The working pressure is 1–6 bar, and the typical pressure drop is within 0.1–0.4 bar, which maintains user comfort while ensuring effective filtration.

Is the set suitable for water temperatures up to 45 °C?

Yes. The filter is designed to operate within 1–45 °C, making it suitable for cold and lukewarm utility water.

Can other filter cartridges be used later?

Yes. The housings work with standard 10" cartridges, so in the future you can also use other compatible solutions of this format.

In what order are the cartridges installed in the housings?

The installation order is as follows: mechanical (foam) cartridge, granular activated carbon cartridge, and then the activated carbon block. Keeping this order is important for proper operation of the entire system.

Do the cartridges need to be prepared before first use?

Yes. Each cartridge should be removed from the plastic packaging, submerged in clean water for 30 minutes, and then allowed to drain. This step reduces the risk of air bubbles and improves filtration efficiency.

What should be done after installing the filter?

After assembling the set, slowly open the water supply, observe the filter for 2–3 minutes, and check the tightness of the connections. Then fully open the valve, open the nearest faucet after the filter, and flush the cartridges for 5–10 minutes.
