FCCST Aquafilter is a water softening cartridge with ion-exchange resin granules, designed for use in popular 10-inch housings. Its purpose is to reduce the buildup of calcium and magnesium deposits responsible for limescale formation in installations and appliances that come into contact with water.

The cartridge is recommended for protecting household appliances, heating devices, and plumbing systems. Thanks to its design, it can be used both in housings mounted directly on pipes and in under-sink systems.

How does the FCCST Aquafilter cartridge work?

The cartridge uses fine-grained ion-exchange resin with a high ion exchange capacity. In practice, this means that calcium and magnesium ions are removed from the water and replaced with sodium ions. This water softening process effectively limits scale formation and improves the operating conditions of installations and appliances supplied with utility water.

The cartridge design has been developed so that water entering at one end and exiting at the other passes through the entire ion-exchange resin bed. This makes it possible to maximize the working surface of the resin bed and increases the cartridge’s effectiveness during use.

Additionally, the cartridge has its own final filter that prevents resin particles from escaping beyond the filter. This is important both for the safe operation of the entire system and for maintaining proper water flow.

The cartridge can complement a broader water treatment system, and in more advanced setups it is also used as one of the components working with systems such as an osmotic filter, reverse osmosis filter, reverse osmosis, or a reverse osmosis system, if the design of the entire setup includes a stage for protection against limescale buildup.
