RO5 Platinum Wasser ULTRA5 is a 5-stage reverse osmosis system designed for everyday drinking water treatment. The device stands out for its high build quality, reliable operation, and practical under-sink installation, so it does not take up space on the kitchen countertop.

How the 5-stage water filtration works

The ULTRA5 model uses a complete, multi-stage purification process in which the successive cartridges and osmotic membrane are responsible for removing different groups of contaminants. This arrangement improves filtration efficiency and supports stable operation of the entire reverse osmosis system.

Stage I of filtration

The 20-micron foam cartridge traps all kinds of mechanical impurities, such as sand, rust, and other sediment.

Stage II of filtration

The carbon cartridge is designed for filtration of chlorine, chlorine derivatives, lead, toxic heavy metals, and for removing organic compounds and mechanical impurities down to 20 microns.

Stage III of filtration

The 5-micron foam cartridge traps all kinds of mechanical impurities, for example sand, rust, and other sediment.

Stage IV of filtration

The osmotic membrane consists of many layers wound around a perforated core placed inside. The membrane retains 96–99% of dissolved organic and inorganic contaminants in water, heavy metals, and some bacteria and viruses not smaller than 0.001 micron. These contaminants are separated and discharged into the sewage system, while ideally purified water passes through the openings to the central core and, under pressure, flows out of the membrane.

Stage V of filtration

The inline carbon cartridge contains a high-quality coconut shell carbon media, which improves the taste and odor of the water.

The set includes a 75 GPD membrane with a capacity of 280 l/24 h. This is the key component responsible for precise water purification in the reverse osmosis process. The system works with a tank with a total capacity of 12 l. Depending on the operating pressure, the tank can store approximately 8 l of clean water, which increases the convenience of using the device throughout the day.

Construction and installation

RO5 Platinum Wasser ULTRA5 has been designed as an under-sink system. The housing and head are made of polypropylene, and the connection uses 1/4" polyethylene tubing, quick-connect fittings, and a 3/8" water connection. This configuration makes installation organization and everyday use of the system easier.

The device has 3 filter housings and a total of 5 stages of filtration, thanks to which the individual purification stages are arranged in a logical and effective way: from mechanical filtration, through activated carbon, to the osmotic membrane and the final improvement of the organoleptic qualities of the water.
