Its structure resembles the consistency of foam, with a large number of open-cell microbubbles on the surface. As a result, the cartridge effectively captures contaminants present in tap water.

In practice, it removes sand, silt, rust, and other mechanical impurities. It therefore helps protect household water installations and appliances from premature wear and the buildup of unwanted deposits. The polypropylene nonwoven material used is resistant to chemicals and to the growth of microorganisms.

FCCST20BB – softening cartridge with ion exchange media

The FCCST20BB cartridge is filled with fine-grained ion exchange media. The filtration process is based on exchanging magnesium and calcium ions present in the water for sodium ions as the water flows through the media. As a result, the water is softened, which helps limit limescale formation.
