RO filter for aquariums for producing pure demineralized water

The original Aqua Vita aquarium filter is equipped with a Pentair Water 100 GPD membrane and high-quality Aqua Vita BPA FREE cartridges. The set also includes the accessories needed for connection, making it a complete water filtration system ready for operation in household conditions.

This solution was developed for users who need water of very high purity. In aquatics, it makes it possible to prepare water suitable for both marine and freshwater tanks when the goal is to obtain soft water with low pH and almost zero nitrogen compound content.

The applied reverse osmosis is one of the most advanced water purification methods. The system removes up to 99% of mechanical impurities, dissolved compounds, and microorganisms. Water obtained from the filter can also be used for cosmetic, laboratory, and steam iron applications.

The RO4 Aqua Vita model uses 10-inch RO housings and Aqua Vita cartridges, which translates into significantly increased flow rates compared to inline filters. An important design advantage is also the routing of all connections to the front panel, which makes installation and everyday use easier.

How the 4-stage filtration works

The RO4 Aqua Vita system guides water through four successive purification stages. Each of them performs a specific function: from retaining larger mechanical impurities, through protecting the RO membrane, to highly accurate separation of dissolved substances.

1. AQUAVITA FCPS20 sediment filter

This is a high-quality cartridge with a filtration accuracy of 20 microns. At the first stage, impurities present in tap water, such as sand, silt, and rust, with particle sizes up to 20 µm are removed.

The cartridge made of polypropylene nonwoven fabric is characterized by very good impurity absorption. Its structure resembles foam with a large number of open-cell microbubbles, which supports effective capture of solid particles. The filter is certified PZH, TUV, BPA FREE, and PHALATE FREE.

2. AQUAVITA FCCBL10 sintered activated carbon filter

The second stage is essential for protecting the RO membrane. The cartridge removes 98% to 99% of free chlorine, chlorinated solvents, and aromatic hydrocarbons from the water, while also improving the taste and smell of the water.

The filter also reduces up to 85% of chlorinated pesticides, polyaromatic compounds, phenol, benzene, and organic substances. The carbon block is characterized by lower dusting than granular carbon. The filter is certified PZH, TUV, BPA FREE, and PHALATE FREE.

3. AQUAVITA FCPS5 sediment filter

The third stage is a high-quality sediment cartridge with a filtration accuracy of 5 microns. At this level, additional mechanical impurities such as sand, silt, and rust, with particle sizes up to 5 µm, are removed from the water.

This stage additionally prepares the water before it passes through the RO membrane, supporting stable and effective operation of the entire system. The filter is certified PZH, TUV, BPA FREE, and PHALATE FREE.

4. PENTAIR TLC-100 RO membrane

The semi-permeable RO membrane is built from many layers wound around a perforated core placed inside the membrane. Contaminated water is forced under pressure onto the membrane surface, where water molecules pass through microscopic pores.

Contaminants are separated and discharged to the drain, while perfectly purified water enters the central core through openings and flows out of the membrane under pressure. The RO membrane retains 96-99% of dissolved organic and inorganic contaminants, heavy metals, and radioactive elements with a size of 0.01 micron.

The membrane capacity is 100 GPD (Gallons Per Day), which is about 380 liters per day while maintaining appropriate feed water parameters.
