What is the FR-FLUSH kit used for?

FR-FLUSH is designed for periodic flushing of the RO membrane in installations using reverse osmosis. Its purpose is to make it easier to remove accumulated deposits that can build up on the membrane surface during standard operation.

Thanks to the BY-PASS bypass, water can flow freely to the drain during flushing. This operating method increases flow, enables effective membrane flushing at high pressure, and supports proper operation of the entire system.

How does RO membrane flushing work?

During operation of a reverse osmosis filter, contaminants can settle on the membrane and affect system performance. Regular flushing helps remove them before they begin to reduce the efficiency of the system.

In the FR-FLUSH kit, the flushing process takes place by opening the BY-PASS valve while the reverse osmosis system is operating. After opening the bypass, water can flow freely to the drain, which intensifies the flow and allows the membrane to be effectively flushed. After flushing is complete, the valve should be closed so the system returns to normal operation.

Kit installation

The kit is installed on the flow restrictor. Proper installation requires maintaining the correct flow direction and using the existing restrictor or one purchased separately.

1. Disconnect the water supply to the system.
2. Detach the flow restrictor from the membrane housing.
3. Cut the red tube from the FR-FLUSH kit to the appropriate length.
4. When connecting, pay attention to the flow direction – the small arrow on the ball valve and the arrow on the restrictor will help.
5. Install the existing or new restrictor on the red tube.

How do you properly flush the membrane?

The membrane should be flushed 1 to 2 times a month while the system is operating. To do this, open the BY-PASS valve so that water can flow freely to the drain. After about 2 minutes, close the valve.

This allows the RO membrane to be flushed at high pressure and is a simple part of regular water treatment system maintenance.

Why is regular flushing important?

The osmosis membrane is one of the most important components of a reverse osmosis system. It is responsible for effective separation of contaminants from water, so its condition has a direct impact on the performance of the entire system.
