How does RO membrane flushing work?

Kit installation

The kit is installed at the flow restrictor. Installation requires maintaining the correct flow direction and using an existing or newly purchased restrictor.

1. Disconnect the water supply to the system.
2. Detach the flow restrictor from the membrane housing.
3. Cut the red tubing from the FR-FLUSH kit to the appropriate length.
4. When connecting, pay attention to the flow direction – the small arrow on the ball valve and the arrow on the restrictor are helpful.
5. Install the existing or new restrictor on the red tubing.

How to flush the membrane correctly?

The membrane should be flushed 1 to 2 times a month while the system is operating. To do this, open the BY-PASS valve so that water can flow to the drain without restriction. After about 2 minutes, the valve should be closed.

This action allows the RO membrane to be flushed under high pressure and is a simple part of regular maintenance for the water treatment system.
