3-stage RO filter for aquaristics

RO3 AKVA LINE is a ready-to-install water filter based on reverse osmosis technology, intended primarily for all types of aquariums. The water filtration system has been configured to combine effective pre-filtration with the operation of an osmosis membrane, which is responsible for a very high level of contaminant separation.

The device removes up to 98% of all water contaminants, including mechanical impurities, dissolved compounds and microorganisms. It is a solution for people who want water with better parameters for aquarium use and are looking for a complete, practical and easy-to-start kit.

Each device comes with an installation manual, and the filter itself is already prepared for installation.

Use in aquaristics

The RO3 reverse osmosis filter has been designed with aquarium applications in mind. It allows you to prepare water with parameters desired by many freshwater aquarium users, and after expansion it can also be part of more advanced systems.

• Lowering water conductivity – this is an important parameter for aquarists. The kit is intended for freshwater aquaristics; for marine aquaristics, expansion of the system with a DEMI module is recommended.

• Lowering pH – in most cases, the reduction is by 1–2 points.

• Softening water – the osmosis membrane effectively removes calcium and magnesium compounds from the water, reducing total water hardness to zero or close to zero dH.

Filtration stages

The system operates in three stages, thanks to which the osmosis membrane is protected by pre-filtration and the entire purification process is effective and stable.

1. WPL2

In-line cartridge made of polypropylene foam. It is responsible for filtering sand, silt, rust particles and other solid contaminants from drinking water, effectively protecting the subsequent elements of the system. The cartridge should be replaced at most every 6 months.

2. WWL2

The in-line carbon cartridge removes contaminants such as chlorine, chlorine compounds and organic impurities from the water. This stage supports membrane protection and improves the operating conditions of the entire system. The cartridge should be replaced at most every 6 months.

3. AQUAFILTER 75

The osmosis membrane made on FILMTEC materials. It is an assembly of semipermeable thin-film membranes. In combination with nonwoven polypropylene and activated carbon filters, it makes it possible to obtain truly clean water. The osmosis membrane removes up to 99% of all compounds dissolved in water, as well as bacteria and viruses. Its service life is approximately 5–6 years.

Operation and use

To ensure the reverse osmosis system maintains high filtration efficiency, it is necessary to follow the replacement schedule for pre-filters and monitor the operating conditions of the device. Regular maintenance helps maintain good performance of the osmosis membrane and stable parameters of the treated water.

• WPL2 cartridge: replace at most every 6 months.

• WWL2 cartridge: replace at most every 6 months.

• AQUAFILTER 75 membrane: service life about 5–6 years.

• Operating pressure range: from 2.5 bar to 6 bar.

• Operating temperature: from 2 to 42°C.
