Set of 3 inserts for 10” Big Blue housings

The set includes three complementary Aquafilter filter cartridges: FCPS20M10B, FCCFE10BB and FCCBL10BB-S. Each of them is responsible for a different stage of water quality improvement, which is why the set works well where both protection of fittings and appliances, iron reduction, and improvement of the organoleptic properties of water matter.

The inserts are dedicated to 10-inch Big Blue filter housings. The set can be used as part of a home water filtration system, including in expanded installations working with solutions such as reverse osmosis filter, osmosis filter, reverse osmosis, or reverse osmosis system – as an effective pre-treatment stage preparing water for further purification.

How this set of inserts works

1. Mechanical filtration – FCPS20M10B

FCPS20M10B is a 20-micron mechanical cartridge designed for Big Blue housings. It stands out for its very good contaminant absorption. Its structure resembles foam, and the surface contains a large number of open-cell microbubbles, which promotes efficient capture of solid contaminants.

The cartridge effectively removes sand, silt, rust, and other mechanical impurities present in tap water. As a result, it helps protect the home water installation and household appliances from deposits and premature wear. The polypropylene nonwoven used is resistant to chemicals as well as microorganism growth.

The cartridge is intended for treating cold drinking water or utility water. It should not be used for microbiologically contaminated water or water of unknown origin.

2. Iron removal – FCCFE10BB

FCCFE10BB is an active media cartridge designed for iron removal from water. Its purpose is to effectively retain iron compounds dissolved in water. It is especially useful where the presence of iron reduces water comfort, affects fittings, heating appliances, and household devices such as washing machines and dishwashers.

The cartridge contains a special fine-grained granulate with a high capacity for capturing iron ions. The design was developed so that the water flowing through penetrates the entire ion-exchange granulate bed, ensuring maximum performance. In addition, the cartridge improves the taste and smell of water, reducing the characteristic metallic aftertaste.

The cartridge has its own final filter, which prevents granulate particles from escaping beyond the filter. Additional protection is provided by a polypropylene filter insert with a filtration precision of 10 microns.

FCCBL10BB-S is a professional carbon cartridge made of specially sintered activated carbon from coconut shells with high density. This design provides high adsorption capacity for chlorine and other organic contaminants present in water.

Activated carbon effectively eliminates organic water contaminants. In installations supplied with tap water, it drastically reduces chlorine levels. In treating water from a private well, it improves oxidizability and clarifies the water. At the same time, it significantly reduces the presence of organic contaminants.

The carbon block form is less prone to dusting than granular carbon, which is why this cartridge is especially recommended for main water systems. Coconut shell carbon has a very large active surface area, which translates into high effectiveness in reducing chlorine and organic contaminants and improving the usability parameters of water.
