What is WodaRO MONO 27 used for?

The WodaRO MONO 27 BNT model has been designed to remove water hardness in single-family homes, restaurants, car washes, boiler rooms, and other facilities where utility water comes into contact with the installation, fittings, heating equipment, and household appliances.

Hard water, meaning water containing elevated amounts of calcium and magnesium compounds, is a very common problem in Poland. Its presence leads to limescale buildup, increases the consumption of washing, laundering, and cleaning agents, and also negatively affects the durability of equipment. The use of a water softener helps reduce these effects and improves everyday comfort when using water.

How does water softening work?

The softening process involves removing from the water the components responsible for its hardness. In practice, this means exchanging calcium and magnesium ions for sodium ions as the water flows through the ion-exchange resin bed.

When the ion-exchange capacity of the bed is exhausted, the unit performs regeneration using a brine solution. Thanks to this, the bed regains its working properties and can continue to effectively remove the compounds that cause water hardness.

The device uses LEWATITT S1567 monospheric resin by BAYER. This is a medium with a high capacity for removing magnesium and calcium ions responsible for water hardness.

The use of monospheric resin translates into specific operational and performance benefits:

• high flow rates during bed exhaustion and regeneration,
• optimal use of the total exchange capacity,
• low water consumption for bed rinsing,
• uniform flow of water or regenerant solutions through the bed, and thus a uniform working zone (exchange zone).

User comfort and control

WodaRO MONO 27 is equipped with a BNT1650 control valve and a controller with a programmer in Polish. The backlit display makes operation easier, as well as reading settings and daily monitoring of the unit's operation.

Regeneration control takes place in volumetric-time mode, which allows the operation of the softener to be adjusted to actual water consumption and the usage schedule. The compact housing makes installation easier in utility rooms, boiler rooms, and other places with limited space.

Operation and application in a water treatment system

The softener can operate as a stand-alone device responsible for reducing water hardness or as part of a more extensive treatment system. In practice, it is often an important stage in protecting the installation, fittings, hot water tanks, boilers, washing machines, dishwashers, and other devices that come into contact with utility water.

In installations where solutions such as a water filter, water filtration system, reverse osmosis, osmotic filter, reverse osmosis filter, or reverse osmosis system are also used, the softener is responsible for removing excessive hardness at an earlier stage, improving the operating conditions of the entire system.
