RO3 Aqua Vita aquarium filter – pure water thanks to reverse osmosis

The original RO3 Aqua Vita aquarium filter with a FILMTEC 100 GPD membrane and a full set of connection accessories has been designed to improve water quality using the reverse osmosis method. It is one of the most advanced purification methods, used wherever high filtration efficiency and consistent water quality are important.

The system removes up to 99.99% of contaminants present in water, including mechanical impurities, dissolved compounds, and microorganisms. In aquarium applications, it makes it possible to obtain water with zero general hardness, low pH, and an almost zero content of nitrogen compounds, which is especially important when preparing water for demanding tanks.

The filter is suitable for both freshwater and marine aquariums. The water produced by this system can also be used for cosmetic purposes, laboratory use, and steam irons.

Why this reverse osmosis filter works well in aquaristics

In aquaristics, controlling water parameters has a direct impact on tank stability and the well-being of fish and plants. The RO3 Aqua Vita system helps prepare water with parameters desired for many types of aquariums.

• Reduced water conductivity – an important parameter for aquarists. This set is intended for freshwater aquariums, and for marine aquariums it is recommended to expand the system with a DEMI module.
• Lower pH – in most cases, the reduction is by 1–2 points*.
• Water softening – the RO membrane effectively removes calcium and magnesium compounds from the water, reducing the general hardness of the water to zero or close to zero dH*.

Modern quick-connect fittings and convenient servicing

The system uses quick-connect fittings on the inline filters, which significantly simplifies installation and later maintenance. This solution makes it easy to install the device and then service it independently.

The quick-connect fittings have additional protection in the form of a sealing mechanism lock. This translates into fast installation and safe everyday use.

Filtration stages

1. WPL2

An inline cartridge made of polypropylene foam. It is responsible for filtering sand, silt, rust particles, and other solid impurities from the water. This is the first stage of protection for the entire system, supporting the proper operation of the subsequent filtration elements.

The cartridge should be replaced at least every 6 months.

2. WWL2

The inline carbon cartridge removes contaminants such as chlorine, chlorine compounds, and organic impurities from the water. This stage improves the quality of the water fed to the membrane and helps protect its operating efficiency.

3. FILMTEC 100 GPD

The RO membrane is the key element of the system. It is a set of semi-permeable thin-film membranes working together with polypropylene nonwoven and activated carbon filters, making it possible to obtain truly pure water.

The RO membrane removes up to 99.99% of all compounds dissolved in water, as well as bacteria and viruses. The estimated membrane lifespan is about 5 years.

Connection options

The system is available with different connection variants, making it easier to match the set to the installation location.

1. 3/8” connection (approx. 15 mm)
2. 1/2" connection (approx. 20 mm)
3. 3/4" connection (washing machine/dishwasher), (approx. 25 mm)
4. 1/2" connection (for shower), (approx. 20 mm)
5. If no connection is selected, the standard 1/2" is included

Operation and use

For the water filtration system to operate at full efficiency, the pre-filter replacement schedule must be followed and appropriate operating conditions for the device must be maintained. The WPL2 polypropylene cartridge and the WWL2 carbon cartridge should be replaced at least every 6 months, while the lifespan of the FILMTEC 100 GPD membrane is estimated at about 5 years.

The final efficiency and the ratio of pure water to rejected water are influenced primarily by the pressure and temperature of the feed water. To maintain proper operating parameters, the system should be used within the range compliant with the technical specification.
