Modern compact OCEAN RX 30L water softener

OCEAN RX 30L belongs to a new series of water softeners equipped with modern software, a volumetric controller, an anti-flood valve and a by-pass. It is a fully automatic compact softener designed to operate on the entire water system in a home or business.

Its task is to remove calcium and magnesium ions responsible for water hardness. These components, especially when deposited under the influence of temperature, cause limescale formation, increase the failure rate of installations and appliances, and raise energy consumption.

Thanks to the use of a softener, you can effectively protect your plumbing system, fittings, heating equipment and household appliances. An additional benefit is reducing the use of washing, cleaning and laundry products by up to 60% and the possibility of reducing heating costs by up to 20%.

How does a water softener work?

Water softening consists in removing from the water the components that cause hardness. This process involves replacing calcium and magnesium ions, responsible for water hardness, with sodium ions, and takes place as water flows through ion-exchange resin.

When the ion-exchange capacity of the media is exhausted, it is regenerated using a brine solution. As a result, the device remains ready for further operation in automatic mode.

The set includes the control head and the connection kit. The OCEAN RX 30 softener has PZH and CE approvals.

Flow-metering controller

The operation of RX heads is based on modern rotary ceramic disc technology. The two ceramic discs are made of high-quality ceramic resistant to abrasion and corrosion. This solution ensures very good sealing inside the controller and thus long-lasting, trouble-free operation.

The ceramic elements are resistant to the buildup of contaminants, including iron, so they do not accumulate in the controller.

Installation and operation

The softener is installed near the water meter, in a place with the possibility of connection to the sewer or a drain grate. After the hydraulic connection and power supply have been made, it is enough to set the operating parameters according to the manual and then pour salt into the tank.

From that moment on, the device independently controls the amount of water flowing through and selects the regeneration day, which significantly facilitates everyday use.

Pre-filtration – protection of the head and installation

To protect the head against mechanical contaminants carried in the water, it is recommended to install a 10" inline pre-filter with a polypropylene cartridge. The set includes a housing with 5 spare string cartridges.

The housing has a 3-piece body. This solution makes cartridge replacement easier, because to open the housing you only need to unscrew the ring itself. There is no need to rotate the whole bowl, as in 2-piece versions.

The transparent 10" housing allows visual assessment of the degree of contamination of the cartridge inside the bowl. The 3-piece body ensures maximum housing tightness and convenient cartridge replacement. The head has a brass thread. The product is made of high-quality materials, and its production and assembly take place in the European Union.

5 x PP20 AquaVita string cartridge

The universal sediment cartridge made of AquaVita polypropylene string traps all kinds of mechanical impurities: sand, silt, rust and similar deposits.

The PP20 string polypropylene cartridges are made of pure polypropylene fiber wound around a filter core. This design provides an increase in filter density toward the core. The cartridges are intended for preliminary filtration of suspensions and mechanical deposits that may cause damage to heating equipment and household appliances.

Carbon filtration – preparing water for consumption

To improve the taste and smell of the water, as well as to provide additional filtration of impurities and unwanted substances, it is recommended to install a 10" inline filter with a carbon block behind the water softener. The set includes a housing with 5 spare carbon cartridges.

Such a water filter can be an important stage in a home water filtration system. In many installations it complements the water treatment process and can also work where an osmosis filter, reverse osmosis filter, reverse osmosis system or reverse osmosis are used as an additional stage of drinking water preparation.

5 x FCBL10 AquaVita carbon block

Carbon block cartridges improve the taste and smell of water, remove mechanical impurities larger than 10 microns, remove chlorine and its toxic derivatives, eliminate lead and toxic heavy metals, and remove organic compounds, including bacteria.

The cartridges are made of sintered activated carbon, which removes from 98% to 99% of free chlorine, chlorinated solvents and aromatic hydrocarbons from water, as well as up to 85% of chlorinated pesticides, polycyclic compounds, phenol, benzene and organic substances.
