Description

The triple inline water filter fi 1/2" GW is a complete, 3-stage water filtration system for pre-treatment of cold and lukewarm utility water. The integrated 3x10" housing with 1/2" GW connections and three matched filter cartridges effectively reduce sand, rust, and other mechanical sediment, improve water taste and odor, and also reduce chlorine and some organic compounds. It is a practical water filter for a house, apartment, workshop, or draw-off point, and can be an important part of a broader water treatment process, also as a stage preceding a reverse osmosis filter, reverse osmosis, or reverse osmosis system.

Complete set for 3-stage water filtration

This triple inline filter has been prepared as a ready-to-install set for effective pre-filtration. It combines three purification stages in one module, making the installation tidy, easy to service, and simple to mount on a wall.

The integrated design simplifies connection of the entire system — just connect the inlet and outlet in the standard 1/2" GW. This solution works wherever improving utility water quality matters without the need for electrical power.

Set contents

  • Integrated triple 10" housing body fi 1/2" GW
  • 3 pcs. 10" filter cartridges:
    • 5 µm foam (sediment) cartridge,
    • activated carbon (granular) cartridge,
    • carbon block cartridge.
  • Housing wrench – makes removing and replacing cartridges easier
  • Mounting plate + 12 pcs. screws for the heads – stable filter mounting

Key advantages

  • Complete, integrated module – only the 1/2" inlet and outlet threads need to be connected
  • Three filtration stages in one block – 5 µm foam, granular activated carbon, carbon block
  • Immediate water improvement – removal of sand, rust, chlorine, pesticides, heavy metals, unpleasant tastes and odors
  • Brass threads + double sealing – reduced risk of micro-leaks and good corrosion resistance
  • Minimal pressure drop – full-bore 1/2" GW threads
  • Quick service – cartridge replacement in under 5 minutes
  • Compact design – easy wall mounting
  • Operating range 1–45 °C – for cold and lukewarm utility water

This solution can operate on its own as pre-filtration or as part of a larger water filtration system. In practice, such a setup is often used before more precise technologies, such as a reverse osmosis filter or reverse osmosis system, to protect subsequent treatment stages.

How 3-stage filtration works

1. FCPS5 foam cartridge (sediment)

  • Function: deep filtration of mechanical impurities – retains sand, silt, rust deposits, and larger suspended particles.
  • Location: usually installed as the first stage, before the carbon cartridges, to protect the downstream filtration stages.
  • Replacement: every 3–6 months*

2. GAC10 WodaRO granular activated carbon cartridge

  • Function: water clarification – reduction of chlorine, aromas and odors, organic deposits.
  • Location: second stage – pre-cleans the water, leaving it clean and neutral in taste.
  • Replacement: every 3–6 months*

3. FCBL10 WodaRO carbon block cartridge

  • Function: adsorption of chlorine, pesticides, and most organic compounds and heavy metals; significant improvement in water taste and odor.
  • Location: third stage – the block cartridge excellently removes chemical substances before the water continues through the system.
  • Replacement: every 3–6 months*

* Recommended replacement intervals may be shortened in case of high water contamination, temperature, or pressure.

What this set is suitable for

The triple inline filter is intended for pre-filtration of cold and lukewarm utility water. It helps reduce mechanical sediment and improve the organoleptic properties of water, i.e. its taste and odor. It can be used as a standalone water quality improvement system or as preparation of water before further purification.

Thanks to the use of standard 10" cartridges, the set offers high service flexibility and the possibility of later selecting other filter cartridges according to the needs of the installation.

Operating and installation instructions

1. Preparation before installation

1.1. Check the set contents

  • 3 × filter body with pre-connected heads (in one frame)
  • 1 × mounting plate
  • 1 × mounting wrench
  • 6 × O-rings (gaskets) in the heads, pre-installed
  • 3 × filter cartridges
  • 12 screws for fastening the plate to the heads

1.2. Tools and additional materials (not included)

  • drill with ø6 mm bit
  • ø6 mm expansion plugs
  • cross-head screwdriver (PH2)
  • technical petroleum jelly
  • 1/2" GZ installation water connectors
  • PTFE tape or PTFE thread seal tape for securing connector threads
  • an adjustable or open-end wrench for metal connectors, if needed

1.3. Preparing the cartridges

  1. Remove each cartridge from the plastic packaging.
  2. Place the cartridges in a clean container of water and submerge for 30 min.
  3. After this time, remove gently and let the excess water drain off.

Soaking prevents air bubbles and improves filtration efficiency.

2. Selecting and preparing the installation location

  1. Select the location

Behind the main water shut-off valve.

In a space with easy access for operation and cartridge replacement.

  2. Leave at least 10 cm of free space below and above the filter frame.
  3. Close the shut-off valve supplying water and release pressure by opening the nearest tap after the filter.

3. Installing the mounting plate and body frame

  1. Place the mounting plate under the frame of the three heads, leveling it.
  2. Mark the mounting holes corresponding to the holes in the plate.
  3. Drill the holes and insert the expansion plugs.
  4. Screw the plate to the wall using the plugs.
  5. Hang the body frame on the plate, engaging the upper profile of the frame.

4. Installing the water connections

The body set has 1/2" GW internal threads on the inlet and outlet. External 1/2" GZ connectors must be selected.

  1. Select 1/2" GZ connectors that fit the 1/2" GW threads in the heads.
  2. Wrap the GZ threads with PTFE tape (a dozen or so turns).
  3. Screw the GZ connectors into the GW threads of the heads:

Side marked IN arrow – water supply from the installation.

Side marked OUT – water outlet after filtration.

  4. Tighten the connectors with an adjustable wrench until resistance is felt.
  5. Connect the water installation pipes to the mounted connectors, sealing the joints.

5. Installing the filter cartridges

Reminder: the cartridges should already have been soaked for 30 min.

  1. Unscrew each housing.
  2. Check that the O-ring is in place.
  3. Apply a layer of petroleum jelly to the O-ring.
  4. Insert the cartridges into the housing in the following order:

    Mechanical (foam)

    Granular activated carbon cartridge

    Carbon block

  5. Make sure each cartridge is seated vertically.
  6. Tighten the housing: by hand or with the wrench until slight resistance is felt.

6. Start-up and leak test

  1. Slowly open the main water supply valve (1/4 turn).
  2. Observe the set for 2–3 min. If you notice leaks, tighten the relevant housing or connector slightly.
  3. Once you have confirmed tightness, fully open the valve.

7. Flushing and putting into use

  1. Open the nearest tap behind the filter and flush the cartridges for 5–10 min.
  2. Check the mounting stability and gaskets.
  3. Record the installation date on the housing label – this will make cartridge replacement planning easier.

To maintain high filtration quality, regularly check the condition of the cartridges and replace them according to the recommendations.

Operation and service

The system operates without electrical power and uses the pressure in the water installation. Regular cartridge replacement is crucial to maintain filtration efficiency, proper flow, and stable water quality.

The cartridges should be replaced every 3–6 months, but in the case of heavier water contamination, higher temperature, or other more demanding operating conditions, this period may be shorter. The advantage of the set is quick service access and compatibility with the popular 10" standard.
