Complete 3-stage under-sink pre-filter

This set has been prepared as a complete, three-stage pre-filter for under-sink installation. It is based on original Aquafilter parts and is intended for conditioning cold drinking water or utility water.

The filtration system combines mechanical and carbon filtration, making it a functional solution wherever protection of the installation, improvement of the organoleptic properties of water, and convenient operation matter.

How 3-stage filtration works

Effective water conditioning is provided by three specialized Aquafilter cartridges. Each stage handles a different range of tasks, so the entire water filtration system works comprehensively and logically, step by step.

Stage I – FCPS20 cartridge

FCPS20 is a polypropylene nonwoven cartridge with a precision of 20 microns. It is responsible for filtering mechanical, i.e. sediment impurities.

It is a very good cartridge for removing small fractions of solid contaminants from water, such as silt, sludge, and other particles larger than 20 microns. Such contaminants may be present both in well water and in mains water, where they often enter during transport.

This cartridge is typically used in under-sink and inline filters as protection for more expensive filter media and installation components. It helps protect carbon, softening, iron-removal cartridges, as well as the water installation and fixtures.

The cartridge is made of high-quality polypropylene nonwoven fabric shaped so that water is filtered through the entire structure of the cartridge.

Cartridge life: 3–6 months depending on water quality.

Stage II – FCCBHD cartridge

FCCBHD is a 10-inch cartridge containing high-quality carbon from coconut shells. It is intended for conditioning cold drinking water or utility water.

The cartridge is equipped with a final filter that prevents media particles from escaping outside the cartridge.

Advantages of the FCCBHD cartridge:

Stage III – FCCBKDF cartridge

FCCBKDF is a carbon cartridge filled with activated carbon from coconut shells and KDF media. It is intended for conditioning cold drinking water or utility water.

Activated carbon from coconut shells helps remove chlorine, chlorinated solvents, and aromatic hydrocarbons from water, and also improves the taste and smell of water. In addition, it reduces polyaromatic compounds, phenol, benzene, and organic substances.

KDF media prevents the growth of bacterial flora on the filter media, lowers the concentration of heavy metals contained in water, such as arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury, as well as iron. It also helps remove hydrogen sulfide and pesticides.

3-piece housing – convenience of installation and servicing

The set uses 3-piece Aquafilter housings designed for quick installation and effective protection of the water system.

The innovative 3-piece housing makes cartridge replacement easier, because to open the housing you only need to unscrew the ring itself. There is no need to rotate the entire bowl, as in typical 2-piece designs.

The transparent 10" bowl allows visual assessment of the level of contamination of the cartridge inside. This design supports convenient operating control and efficient service handling.

The 3-piece housing ensures maximum leak-tightness of the housing, and the head is equipped with a brass thread. The whole unit is made of high-quality materials, and the product was manufactured and assembled in the European Union.

The 3-piece Aquafilter housing consists of:

• a head with a brass thread,
• a ring,
• a transparent bowl.

Pressure gauges and BACinix centering discs

The set includes 2 pressure gauges, which allow pressure readings. This is a practical feature that makes it easier to assess system performance and helps determine when it is time to replace the filter cartridges.

3 antibacterial centering discs

The discs are made using BACinix™ antibacterial technology with nanosilver. It is a bacteriostatic agent that prevents the growth of microorganisms inside the filtration system, which allows longer storage time and protects against further microbiological contamination.

Operation and application

The filter is designed to work with cold water. Thanks to its 3-stage design, it effectively serves as a pre-filter in a home water conditioning system, improving everyday comfort and protecting subsequent components of the installation.

This solution works well as a standalone under-sink system or as a stage preparing water for more advanced devices, such as a reverse osmosis system. A properly selected filter cartridge at each stage helps reduce the load on the later filtration stages.
