Original Aquafilter cartridge set for a 3-stage filter

The set includes three original Aquafilter cartridges, all PZH certified. The set has been designed so that the successive filtration stages complement each other: first mechanical contaminants are trapped, then compounds affecting water taste and odor are reduced, and the final stage extends filtration to additional contaminants and supports the hygiene of the filter media bed.

How filtration works in this set

1. FCPS20 – 20 micron mechanical filtration

The FCPS20 cartridge is made of polypropylene nonwoven fabric with a filtration rating of 20 microns. It is an effective sediment cartridge designed to remove mechanical contaminants present in water, such as fine solid particles, silt, or sludge larger than 20 microns.

Such contaminants may be present both in water from a private well and in tap water, where they often enter during distribution. The structure made of high-quality foam, i.e. polypropylene nonwoven fabric, has been formed to ensure water filtration through the entire cartridge structure.

FCPS20 is typically used, among others, in under-sink and inline filters. Its important role is also to protect more expensive specialty cartridges, such as carbon, softening, or iron-removal cartridges, as well as to protect the water installation and fittings from mechanical deposits.

2. FCCBHD – carbon cartridge with coconut shell carbon

The FCCBHD cartridge contains high-quality coconut shell carbon. It is intended for treating cold drinking or utility water. It uses a final filter that prevents media particles from escaping outside the cartridge.

This filtration stage is mainly responsible for improving the water's utility properties and reducing selected contaminants affecting its quality.

3. FCCBKDF – carbon cartridge with KDF media

The FCCBKDF cartridge is filled with activated carbon from coconut shells and KDF media. Activated carbon helps remove chlorine, chlorinated solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons, as well as polycyclic compounds, phenol, benzene, and organic substances from water. The effect of this stage is also an improvement in water taste and odor.

The KDF media, in turn, prevents the growth of bacterial flora on the filter bed, reduces the concentration of heavy metals in water such as arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury, and also reduces iron, hydrogen sulfide, and pesticides. The cartridge is intended for treating cold drinking or utility water.
