Cartridges filled with granulated coconut shell carbon (GAC), KDF® media, and FDA-approved ion exchange media.
They effectively reduce chlorine, organic substances, pesticides, and improve the taste and smell of water. The KDF® media reduces the concentration of iron and heavy metals (lead, mercury, arsenic) and also exhibits bacteriostatic properties, protecting the carbon media from the development of bacterial flora. ACC-3 Aquafilter granulated activated carbon from coconut shell (GAC) is used in conjunction with KDF carriers to significantly extend the lifespan of filter cartridges. KDF carriers are redox carriers that remove chlorine and reduce heavy metals with bacteriostatic properties, and additionally, KDF has the ability to remove water-soluble cations in the oxidation-reduction process, resulting in a cost-effective alternative to chemical treatment for chlorine removal during municipal water purification and extends the lifespan of carbon.
