What does Venturi nozzle mean in practice?
The acceleration of water in the constriction lowers the static pressure and creates the vacuum needed to draw in the gas or liquid.
When does it matter?
Operates only at the required pressure difference and flow; too high back pressure behind the choke stops suction.

The diameter of the nozzle for the stream is selected, a non-return valve is installed on the suction and the vacuum is measured under operating conditions.
