WP20-1B Top Filter is a mechanical polypropylene fiber cartridge for 20" BIG BLUE housings and HHBB-20B stations. It effectively removes sand, silt, rust, and other particulates from water. The filtration accuracy of < 1 micron helps protect the water system and more expensive cartridges (e.g., carbon, softening, iron removal). It operates in the range of 2-42°C.
The WP20-1B Top Filter 1 micron BIG BLUE 20" cartridge is a mechanical filter cartridge designed for 20" BIG BLUE housings and the HHBB-20B station. Made of polypropylene nonwoven fabric, it effectively removes sand, silt, rust, and other suspended solids from water, supporting the water filtration system in a house or apartment. Thanks to its filtration accuracy below 1 micron, it works as an efficient water filter protecting the installation and subsequent stages of water treatment, including more expensive specialist cartridges.

The cartridge from the WP series has been designed for mechanical water filtration. Its task is to retain solid contaminants present in the system, such as sand, silt, rust, and other suspended matter that may reduce water quality and accelerate wear of fittings and devices.
The WP20-1B model fits 20-inch BIG BLUE inline housings, as well as the HHBB-20B water treatment station. It is a solution used wherever effective preliminary mechanical filtration and protection of further treatment stages are important.
The cartridge is made of foam, that is polypropylene nonwoven fabric, formed in such a way that filtration takes place throughout the entire structure of the material. This means effective capture of mechanical impurities throughout the entire volume of the cartridge, not only on its surface.
The filtration accuracy of < 1 micron makes the cartridge highly effective as a barrier for fine particles present in the water supplying the household installation. Such filtration helps maintain higher cleanliness of utility water and supports the proper operation of subsequent system components.
The WP20-1B mechanical cartridge can operate as the first stage of filtration in advanced treatment systems. It is particularly useful where suspended solids must be captured before further water purification.
It is a practical choice as a pre-filter for water before carbon, softening, or iron removal cartridges. This type of filter cartridge can also support the operation of systems using reverse osmosis, an osmotic filter, a reverse osmosis filter, or another reverse osmosis system, if effective reduction of mechanical impurities is needed at an earlier stage.
The cartridge should not be used for water of unknown origin or for microbiologically contaminated water.
The cartridge lifespan is up to 14,000 liters, although the actual service life depends on the degree of water contamination. The greater the amount of suspended solids in the raw water, the faster the filter material may wear out.
To maintain filtration efficiency and proper system protection, it is worth checking the condition of the cartridge regularly and replacing it when a noticeable drop in flow or depletion of filtration capacity is observed.
* Actual lifespan depends on water contamination.

Yes. The cartridge helps protect more expensive carbon, softening, and iron removal cartridges, as well as the water installation itself and the fittings.
The maximum lifespan is 14,000 liters, but the actual period of use depends on the degree of water contamination.
The cartridge is designed to operate at temperatures from 2 to 42 °C.
