WODARO triple in-line filter for effective pre-filtration

This flow-through in-line set has been designed for effective filtration of cold water and summer utility water. Three purification stages in one integrated construction make it easy to improve water quality in the system, reduce the presence of sediment and contaminants, and increase everyday comfort of use.

The solid housing, universal 1" GW connections and easy operation make the system well suited as a pre-filter in a home, workshop or utility installation. It can also serve as a sensible stage before more advanced solutions, such as a reverse osmosis filter, reverse osmosis system, reverse osmosis or a complete reverse osmosis system.

The set forms a complete filtration module: on the installation side, you only need to select the appropriate 1" GZ water connectors for the 1" GW internal threads.

3 filtration stages and the role of the individual cartridges

1. 5 µm foam cartridge (sediment)

• Function: deep filtration of mechanical contaminants – traps sand, silt, rusty deposits and larger solid particles.
• Location: usually installed as the first stage, before the carbon cartridges, to protect the subsequent filtration stages.
• Replacement: every 3–6 months*.

2. Activated carbon cartridge (granules)

• Function: water clarification – reduction of chlorine, aromas and odors, organic deposits.
• Location: second stage – preliminarily cleans the water, leaving it clear and neutral in taste.
• Replacement: every 3–6 months*.

3. Carbon block cartridge

• Function: adsorption of chlorine, pesticides and most organic compounds, heavy metals; significant improvement in water taste and odor.
• Location: third stage – the block cartridge effectively removes chemical substances before the water enters the further system.
• Replacement: every 3–6 months*.

Operating and installation instructions

1. Preparation before installation

1.1. Checking the set contents

• 3 × filtering body with pre-connected heads (in one frame),
• 1 × mounting plate,
• 1 × installation wrench,
• 6 × O-rings (gaskets) in the heads, pre-installed,
• 3 × filter cartridges,
• 12 screws for fastening the plate to the heads.

1.2. Tools and additional materials (not included)

• drill with ø6 mm bit,
• ø6 mm wall plugs,
• cross-head screwdriver (PH2),
• technical petroleum jelly,
• 1" GZ installation water connectors,
• PTFE tape or PTFE thread to secure the connector threads,
• optionally an adjustable or open-end wrench for metal connectors.

1.3. Preparing the cartridges

1. Remove each cartridge from the foil packaging.
2. Place the cartridges in a clean container with water and submerge for 30 minutes.
3. After this time, remove them gently and allow excess water to drain off.

2. Choosing and preparing the installation location

1. Select a location behind the main shut-off valve, in a space with easy access for servicing and cartridge replacement.
2. Maintain at least 10 cm of free space below and above the filter frame.
3. Close the shut-off valve supplying the water and release the pressure by opening the nearest tap downstream of the filter.

3. Mounting the mounting plate and body frame

1. Place the mounting plate under the frame of the three heads, leveling it.
2. Mark the mounting holes corresponding to the holes in the plate.
3. Drill the holes and insert the wall plugs.
4. Screw the plate to the wall using the plugs.
5. Hang the body frame on the plate by engaging the upper profile of the frame.

4. Installing the water connections

1. Select 1" GZ connectors that fit the 1" GW threads in the heads.
2. Wrap the GZ threads with PTFE tape (several turns).
3. Screw the GZ connectors into the GW threads of the heads: the side marked with the IN arrow is the water inlet from the system, and the side marked OUT is the outlet after filtration.
4. Tighten the connectors with an adjustable wrench until resistance is felt.
5. Connect the water installation pipes to the installed connectors, sealing the connections.

5. Installing the filter cartridges

The cartridges should be soaked for 30 minutes beforehand.

1. Unscrew each housing.
2. Check that the O-ring is in place.
3. Apply a layer of petroleum jelly to the O-ring.
4. Insert the cartridges into the housing in the following order:
   • mechanical (foam),
   • activated carbon granule cartridge,
   • activated carbon block.
5. Make sure each cartridge is seated vertically.
6. Screw the housing on by hand or with the wrench until a slight resistance is felt.

6. Start-up and leak test

1. Slowly open the main water supply valve (1/4 turn).
2. Observe the set for 2–3 minutes. If you notice leaks, slightly tighten the relevant housing or connector.
3. Once you have confirmed tightness, open the valve fully.

7. Flushing and putting into use

1. Open the nearest tap downstream of the filter and flush the cartridges for 5–10 minutes.
2. Check the stability of the installation and the seals.
3. Record the installation date on the housing labels – this will make it easier to plan cartridge replacement.
