Description

FCPS50-L Aquafilter 50 micron LONG 20" cartridge is a sediment filter cartridge for mechanical filtration, designed for SLIM/LONG 20" housings with a diameter of 2 1/2". Made of polypropylene nonwoven fabric using Melt-blown technology, it effectively traps sand, silt, rust, and other sediment down to 50 microns, helping protect the installation, fittings, and subsequent components of the water filtration system. It is a practical water filter for household and utility applications, also as a pre-filtration stage wherever effective water treatment and low pressure drop are important.

Mechanical cartridge for effective removal of sediment from water

Aquafilter FCPS50-L was designed to capture mechanical impurities present in water. The polypropylene nonwoven structure allows it to retain typical sediment such as sand, silt, rust, and other suspended particles up to 50 microns in size. As a result, the cartridge helps protect the water system and devices connected to it.

This solution works particularly well wherever preliminary mechanical filtration of utility and drinking water is needed. In practice, such a cartridge can operate as a filtration element at the building water inlet or as a stage protecting further components, for example a more precise filtration system, a reverse osmosis filter, or an installation prepared for reverse osmosis.

Melt-blown technology and material

The cartridge is made of polypropylene nonwoven fabric using Melt-blown technology. 100% pure polypropylene was used, without any additives. This design supports effective filtration of mechanical sediment while maintaining favorable flow parameters.

The cartridge material is resistant to certain chemical compounds, which is why its main application is the filtration of utility and drinking water. This makes FCPS50-L suitable for use in typical household installations as well as in other systems where reliable mechanical filtration is needed.

Key advantages of the Aquafilter FCPS50-L cartridge

  • excellent absorption of sediment: sand, silt, rust, and suspended solids from water,
  • provides low pressure drops with exceptional dirt-holding capacity,
  • the nonwoven material is resistant to certain chemical compounds - its main application is the filtration of utility and drinking water.

Compatibility and application

The FCPS50-L model is intended for SLIM or LONG type housings designed for cartridges with a height of 20 inches and a diameter of 2 1/2 inches. Housings of this type are often installed on main water connections in single-family homes.

Water filtration using SLIM cartridges provides adequate performance in most cases while maintaining low operating costs. The cartridge can serve as the first filtration stage, reducing the amount of mechanical impurities reaching further parts of the installation.

Important operating information: the cartridge should be used in housings compatible with the 20" x 2 1/2" size. The recommended service life is up to 6 months, although the actual period of use depends on the quality of the incoming water and the amount of retained contaminants. The operating temperature range is from 2 to 45°C.

Why use a 50 micron sediment cartridge

Mechanical filtration at the 50 micron level is a proven way to capture larger solid particles present in water. A properly selected sediment cartridge helps reduce the build-up of deposits in fittings, valves, taps, and devices connected to the installation.

In practice, such a cartridge is also valuable support for more advanced water treatment systems. It can improve the operating conditions of subsequent filtration stages, including systems using an osmotic filter or a complete reverse osmosis system.

FAQ

Which housings is the FCPS50-L cartridge compatible with?

The cartridge fits SLIM or LONG type housings designed for cartridges with a height of 20 inches and a diameter of 2 1/2 inches.

What contaminants does this cartridge remove?

The FCPS50-L model retains mechanical impurities such as sand, silt, rust, and other sediment and suspended solids up to 50 microns in size.

What material is the cartridge made of?

The cartridge is made of polypropylene nonwoven fabric using Melt-blown technology. 100% pure polypropylene was used, without additives.

Does the cartridge cause a large pressure drop?

No, one of the important advantages of this model is low pressure drop combined with very good contaminant retention capacity.

How long can the cartridge be used?

The recommended service life of the cartridge is up to 6 months. The actual operating time depends on the quality of the incoming water and the amount of contaminants present in the installation.

What temperature range can the cartridge operate in?

The operating temperature range is from 2 to 45°C.

Where is this type of cartridge most commonly used?

Cartridges of this type are often used on main water connections in single-family homes and in installations where effective mechanical filtration of utility and drinking water is needed.

Is this cartridge suitable as a pre-filter before further filtration?

Yes, a 50 micron sediment cartridge works well as a preliminary stage that retains larger mechanical impurities and helps protect subsequent installation components and more precise filtration systems.
