Description
The cartridge is designed for 10-inch standard filter housings.
The performance of the cartridge qualifies it for use before a single water extraction point. Preliminary filtration on polypropylene nonwoven extends the lifespan of the softening medium and retains mechanical impurities (sand, sludge, etc.).
Purpose:
Mechanical filtration (basic) and water treatment (softening) at individual extraction points.
It works well, for example, when placed in a standing filter (under-sink) of the FHCTF series or in the FHPRx-B series pipe housings.
Due to the two-stage filtration, the cartridge is sometimes the only solution for treating hard water at a single stage (one filter installed on the pipe).
Operating principle:
Preliminary mechanical filtration occurs on polypropylene foam (nonwoven). Solid impurities that are not dissolved in water (sand, rust, silt, etc.) are retained. Water passing through the polypropylene flows into a section filled with an efficient softening medium, which has a PZH certificate for drinking water treatment. In the upper part of the cartridge, calcium ions are exchanged for sodium ions, ensuring that the water flowing out of the cartridge does not cause scale buildup, deposits, etc. Consuming water with a high calcium content contributes to the formation of kidney stones. Hard water flowing in the system causes scale buildup (mainly in connection elements and fittings).
