Original cartridge set for the FP3 filter

The set has been designed for use in the FP3 water filter with a capillary membrane and includes original Aquafilter cartridges. This is a solution for users who want to maintain proper system operation and the full filtration sequence based on several complementary technologies.

The set consists of cartridges with PZH approval:

• FCPS5 10" polypropylene filter
• FCCSKDF 10" carbon filter with KDF media
• FCCST-2 10" iron-removal and softening filter
• capillary membrane

How filtration works in the Aquafilter FP3 set

The set uses several stages of water purification, each responsible for a different range of contaminants. As a result, the system can simultaneously protect subsequent cartridges, improve the organoleptic parameters of the water, and support the protection of devices and fixtures.

1. FCPS5 – 5 micron mechanical filtration

The FCPS5 cartridge is made of polypropylene nonwoven fabric with a filtration accuracy of 5 microns. Its task is to capture mechanical impurities, i.e. sedimentary deposits present both in well water and in mains water.

The cartridge effectively removes fine fractions of solid contaminants from the water, such as silt, sludge and other particles larger than 5 microns. Such impurities often appear in installations during water transport, which is why the first filtration stage is very important for protecting the further filter media.

The cartridge is typically used, among others, in under-sink and inline filters. It performs an important protective function for carbon, softening and iron-removal cartridges, as well as for the water installation and fixtures themselves. The construction made of high-quality foam, i.e. polypropylene nonwoven fabric, has been formed so that the water is filtered through the entire structure of the cartridge.

2. FCCSKDF – carbon cartridge with KDF

The carbon cartridge is filled with activated carbon from coconut shells and KDF media. This combination is responsible for improving the taste and smell of water and reducing many undesirable chemical substances.

Activated carbon from coconut shells removes chlorine, chlorinated solvents and aromatic hydrocarbons from the water. It also reduces polyaromatic compounds, phenol, benzene and organic substances. As a result, the water becomes more pleasant in everyday use.

The KDF media prevents the growth of bacterial flora on the filter bed, lowers the concentration of heavy metals contained in the water, such as arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury, and also reduces iron, hydrogen sulfide and some pesticides.

The cartridge is intended for treating cold drinking water or utility water. It should not be used for microbiologically contaminated water or water of unknown origin.

3. FCCST-2 – iron removal and water softening

The FCCST-2 cartridge with active media is used for iron removal and water softening. It effectively retains iron and calcium compounds dissolved in the water, thereby supporting the protection of household appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers, as well as heating devices.

The cartridge contains a special fine-grained granulate with a high capacity to capture iron, calcium and hydrogen sulfide ions. It has been designed to improve the taste and smell of the water as effectively as possible, remove a metallic aftertaste, reduce white residue and eliminate unpleasant odor.

The cartridge has its own final filter, which prevents granulate particles from escaping beyond the filter. It can be installed in standard 10-inch housings and used in inline, under-sink and standing filters.

4. TLCHF-2T – capillary membrane

The original Aquafilter TLCHF-2T capillary membrane is used in under-sink water treatment systems of this series. It eliminates contaminants with particle sizes down to 0.02 microns, which makes it possible to effectively remove very fine mechanical impurities and, thanks to its high precision, also some bacteria.

Filtration on polypropylene capillaries is one of the more precise methods of loss-free water treatment. In practice, this means the system does not require technological water reject, as is the case in solutions such as an osmotic filter or a reverse osmosis system with a classic osmotic membrane.
