The KBF-012 model was developed as a replacement cartridge for the WODARO FLOWLINE water filter. Its design is based on 4-in-1 technology, in which each stage performs a specific function, and the whole system works sequentially to improve the sensory and functional parameters of the water.

In practice, this means effective support for everyday water filtration: the water gains better taste, greater clarity, and freshness, while cartridge replacement remains quick and convenient. This solution is for users who choose a flow-type water filter instead of more extensive systems, such as a reverse osmosis filter or a reverse osmosis system.

How does 4-in-1 technology work?

One cartridge combines four filtration media responsible for different stages of purification and water quality improvement. As a result, filtration takes place in multiple stages, and each element supports the next.

Calcium sulfite beads

The first stage is responsible for very fast reaction with chlorine present in the water. Calcium sulfite beads play an important protective role and prepare the water for the next filtration stages.

• They very quickly neutralize free chlorine and combined chlorine through the chemical reaction of sulfite with chlorine.
• They initially stabilize the water’s pH, gently shifting it toward a slightly alkaline range.
• They protect the subsequent media from excess chlorine, which shortens the service life of activated carbon.

What do they reduce:

• Residual chlorine responsible for a “pool-like” taste and smell.
• By-products of water chlorination at the early stage of the process.

Activated carbon

The second stage is responsible for adsorbing numerous substances that affect the taste, odor, and color of the water. This is often the element that delivers the most noticeable change in everyday use — beverages and dishes prepared with filtered water gain a better taste profile.

Activated carbon adsorbs, meaning it binds on its surface, numerous organic compounds responsible for the taste, odor, and color of the water. This is the stage that brings the greatest improvement in the taste of drinks and dishes — coffee, tea, or soups turn out distinctly better.

What does it reduce:

• Pesticides and herbicides of agricultural origin.
• Trihalomethanes (e.g. chloroform), formed as by-products of chlorine disinfection.
• Phenols and their derivatives.
• Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
• Organic solvents and volatile organic compounds.
• Free chlorine, chlorine aftertaste, and chlorine odor.
• Organic color and turbidity.

KDF media

The third stage uses a copper/zinc redox media. It works on the principle of oxidation and reduction reactions, transforming dissolved forms of some metals into less soluble forms that can then be retained.

In addition, KDF media limits bacterial growth and biofilm formation inside the system, supporting the hygiene of the entire filtration setup.

What does it reduce:

• Heavy metals, especially lead, mercury, and cadmium, as well as arsenic in selected chemical forms.
• Chlorine and hydrogen sulfide as a support, reducing unpleasant odor.

0.01 µm ultrafiltration membrane

The final stage is an ultrafiltration membrane with a precision of 0.01 microns. Ultrafiltration separates contaminants using a membrane with very small pores, which allows for very precise mechanical water purification while preserving its natural character.

This level of precision:

• retains most bacteria and fine suspended solids,
• significantly improves clarity and freshness,
• does not remove natural minerals – the taste remains neutral.
