Description

Greensand Plus filtration media for removing dissolved iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide, arsenic, and radium from water.

  • Manganese dioxide coating the grains of GreensandPlus acts as a catalyst for the oxidation of iron and manganese.
  • Silica, which forms the core of the media, allows it to be used in water with low silica content, TDS, and hardness.

GreensandPluS is effective at higher temperatures and with greater pressure differentials than regular Greensand. The tolerance for higher pressures allows for extended periods between regenerations and a greater safety margin. The system can be designed for pressure tanks (vertical or horizontal) as well as open gravity filters. GreensandPlus is a proven method for removing iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide, arsenic, and radium. It does not require intensive media preparation or a long startup period. GreensandPlus is an exact replacement for regular Greensand. It can be used in continuous or periodic regeneration without changes in flow rates, regeneration times, or chemical dosing. GreensandPlus is NOT supplied in a regenerated form, so a 4-hour regeneration is necessary before use. Arsenic removal is possible due to adsorption on iron sediments, while radium is removed on precipitated manganese particles, so the presence of iron and manganese ions in the raw water is required. If the raw water does not contain them, they must be added to activate the arsenic and/or radium removal process.

The price applies to a 1-liter package.
