How the filtration system in the Dafi D1 cartridge works

The cartridge's effectiveness comes from a multi-stage filtration process. Each layer serves a specific function and is responsible for a different aspect of water purification.

1. Nonwoven fabric serving as a mechanical filter – traps large solid particles, fine suspensions, sand, and contaminants washed out from plumbing surfaces.
2. Ion-exchange resin – reduces water hardness responsible for limescale formation and decreases the content of metals such as copper and lead.
3. Second nonwoven layer – performs the mechanical filtration process described in the first stage again.
4. Coconut shell carbon block – reduces chlorine and its compounds, improving the taste and smell of water, and additionally removes unwanted organic contaminants.

Daily use and operation

The Dafi D1 cartridge works at a filtration rate of 4.3 l/min, which allows convenient use of filtered water in typical household conditions. The operating temperature range from 4 to 30°C supports proper cartridge performance in standard kitchen installations.

The maximum service life is up to 12 months. In the case of very hard water and high consumption, the filter may last for 60 days. Regular replacement of the cartridge is important to maintain the expected filtration efficiency, good water taste, and appliance protection against limescale.
