Three-layer cartridge for effective filtration and improved water quality

The FCCBKDF2 model is filled with three types of filtration media: activated carbon from coconut shells, water-softening media, and KDF media. This design makes it possible to combine several important functions in one cartridge and provides multi-stage purification of utility and drinking water.

The cartridge was designed as a comprehensive solution. In addition to reducing selected contaminants, it also improves the organoleptic properties of water, which is important both for drinking and everyday household use.

How does FCCBKDF2 work? Structure and filtration stages

The cartridge is built from three layers, each responsible for a different stage of water treatment.

First layer – KDF media

The first layer is responsible for removing hydrogen sulfide and pesticides from the water and for reducing the concentration of heavy metals and iron. The KDF media helps reduce the concentration of heavy metals such as:

• lead,
• arsenic,
• mercury,
• cadmium.

Additionally, the KDF layer has bacteriostatic properties that prevent bacteria from developing on the filtration media.

Second layer – water-softening media

The second layer is responsible for softening water through ion exchange. The media replaces calcium and magnesium ions, known as hardness minerals, with sodium ions. As a result, the cartridge supports the reduction of water hardness.

Third layer – activated carbon from coconut shells

The third layer is made of high-quality activated carbon from coconut shells. It is responsible for removing the following from water:

• chlorine,
• chlorinated solvents,
• aromatic hydrocarbons,
• polyaromatic compounds,
• phenol,
• benzene,
• organic substances.

The carbon layer also improves the taste and odor of water, which translates into greater comfort in everyday use.
