Aquafilter FCCBKDF-STO is a two-stage polypropylene-carbon filter with KDF® media. The first layer made of PP non-woven fabric captures mechanical impurities (rust, sand, silt, suspensions), while the carbon part reduces chlorine and compounds that worsen the taste and smell of water. The KDF® media supports the removal of heavy metals, iron compounds, hydrogen sulfide, and pesticides, and has a bacteriostatic effect on the media.
Two-stage polypropylene-carbon filter cartridge with KDF® media by Aquafilter®.
It is particularly recommended for free-standing filters from the FHCTF, FHCTF1, FHCTF2 series, as well as under-sink systems.
The cartridge is constructed of two layers:
The first layer - (polypropylene fleece) removes mechanical impurities (rust, sand, silt, suspensions) from water with particle sizes no smaller than 10 µm.
The second layer – (activated carbon and KDF® media). At this stage, heavy metals (arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury), iron compounds, hydrogen sulfide, and pesticides will be removed. Additionally, the activated carbon used in the cartridge removes chlorine, chlorinated solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons (improving the taste and smell of water), polycyclic aromatic compounds, phenol, benzene, as well as organic substances. The KDF® media has bacteriostatic properties that prevent the growth of bacterial flora on the filtration media.
The cartridge is intended for treating cold drinking water or general use water.
The cartridge should not be used for microbiologically contaminated water or water of unknown origin. To extend the cartridge's lifespan, a housing with a mechanical filter from the FCPS or FCPP series should be installed before the housing with the carbon cartridge.
Advantages of the cartridge:
*The lifespan of the cartridge depends on the quality of the water.
