Complete set of 3 Big Blue cartridges for the home

The set has been developed for use in Big Blue® in-line housings and provides a comprehensive solution for water purification in household conditions. Each filter cartridge is responsible for a different area of water quality improvement, so the whole system works in multiple stages and effectively.

The set includes:

1. FCPS20M20B – mechanical cartridge, responsible for initial retention of solid contaminants.
2. FCCFE20BB – iron removal cartridge, designed to reduce iron ions, hydrogen sulfide, and the metallic taste and odor of water.
3. FCCBL20BB-S – Silver carbon cartridge, improving water taste and odor while reducing chlorine and selected organic contaminants.

Thanks to this configuration, the set works well both where the problem is sediment and suspended particles, and where the water requires improved usage parameters and sensory qualities.

How does this filtration set work?

1. Mechanical filtration – FCPS20M20B

The first stage is responsible for capturing mechanical impurities present in the water. The cartridge made of polypropylene nonwoven fabric effectively reduces sand, silt, rust, and other solid particles in the 1–50 micron range. This is a very important stage because it limits the flow of larger contaminants to the next cartridges and supports their proper operation.

The cartridge uses a blend of Birm® and Corosex® media, which supports the reduction of iron ions and simultaneously helps correct pH.

The third stage is based on a Silver carbon cartridge made from carbon obtained from coconut shells. This cartridge is responsible for the final improvement of water quality, including its taste and odor. It also helps reduce chlorine, organic contaminants, heavy metals, and chlorinated pesticides. In practice, this is a particularly important stage where everyday water use comfort matters.

Operating and installation recommendations

The set works well as part of a classic home water treatment system. It can be used as an independent set of in-line filters or as part of a larger installation in which solutions such as a reverse osmosis filter, osmotic filter, reverse osmosis, or an advanced reverse osmosis system for drinking water also operate. In such systems, pre-filtration and improvement of water usage parameters are very important for the durability of subsequent system components.
