Set of Big Blue 20" cartridges for effective water treatment

The set has been designed to work with 20" Big Blue type in-line housings. It includes three cartridges with different functions, so filtration takes place in stages and covers both mechanical impurities and issues related to water hardness, taste, and odor.

How this filter cartridge set works

The set creates a multi-stage filtration system in which each cartridge is responsible for a different area of water purification.

1. FCPS20M20B – mechanical cartridge

FCPS20M20B is a mechanical cartridge made of Aquafilter® polypropylene nonwoven fabric, designed for use with 20-inch Big Blue® type in-line housings.

It is mainly used as the first stage of drinking water and utility water filtration. It stands out for very high contaminant retention. The cartridge structure resembles foam, on whose surface there is a very large number of open-cell microbubbles.

The cartridge effectively removes sand, silt, rust, and other mechanical impurities present in tap water with particle sizes no smaller than 1-50 microns, depending on the cartridge selected. As a result, it helps protect home water installations and household appliances.

The polypropylene nonwoven fabric used to make the cartridge is resistant to chemicals and bacterial growth. The cartridge is intended for treating cold drinking or utility water.

The product has a current PZH approval.

2. FCCST20BB – softening cartridge

FCCST20BB is an Aquafilter® softening cartridge designed for use with 20-inch Big Blue® type in-line housings.

The cartridge contains a fine-grain ion-exchange resin with a high ability to exchange calcium and magnesium ions, i.e. minerals responsible for water hardness, for sodium ions.

Hard water promotes the buildup of scale on heating elements in water heaters and on water pipes. It also accelerates the wear of household appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers, while at the same time increasing their energy demand. In addition, it reduces soap lathering and lowers detergent efficiency, so fabrics after washing may be stiff, less pleasant to the touch, and lack vivid colors.

The FCCST20BB cartridge is intended for treating cold drinking or utility water. It is equipped with a final filter that prevents resin particles from escaping outside the cartridge.

The cartridge life is about 6 months, depending on the quality and amount of filtered water. The product has a current PZH approval.

3. FCCBL20BB-S – Silver carbon cartridge

The FCCBL20BB-S Silver Aquafilter cartridge has been designed for effective purification of cold drinking and utility water. It uses coconut shell carbon that meets the strict standards of the American NSF hygiene foundation.

Thanks to the applied solutions, the Silver carbon block, in addition to the typical properties of carbon cartridges, also performs additional functions. It reduces the rate of scale formation, supports the reduction of existing deposits, and also removes heavy metals from water, such as lead, copper, and mercury, as well as the radioactive elements strontium and cesium.

The SILVER series is characterized by very high service life in the carbon cartridge category.

• The cartridges should not be used for microbiologically contaminated water or water of unknown origin.
• The mechanical cartridge works best as the first stage of filtration, as it traps sediment and protects the subsequent cartridges and the installation.
• To extend the service life of the system, mechanical filtration is recommended before specialist cartridges.
• The softening cartridge has a final filter that prevents the medium from escaping outside the cartridge.
• Cartridge replacement should be adjusted to the water quality and intensity of use.
