Capillary membranes represent the greatest achievement in mechanical filtration, ensuring no waste of filtered water. Their task is to thoroughly remove all kinds of mechanical impurities from water such as sludge, sand, rust, as well as some bacteria and viruses – the filtration level is about 0.1 microns.
The capillary membrane consists of polypropylene fibers in the form of thin capillaries. The structure is based on hollow, tapering straws, whose diameter decreases from the outside to the inside. This allows the membrane to capture increasingly smaller particles as water continues to flow.
